What is the role of the Rapporteur Office?
Baia Mare TEAM 2013 Rotaract International Model United Nations transcends from a mere simulation to an actual youth decision-making process. It introduces the concept of Rapporteur Office whose goal is to ensure that the conference outcomes are presented, edited and transmitted in a clear and concise manner to the world and the regional and international decision-making bodies. Through this novel and innovative approach, Rotaract International Model United Nations brings a new vision to the MUN Network and to the other conferences of this type.
The Rapporteur Office includes all Rapporteurs who are under the guidance of the Secretary General. Their responsibility is to issue reports and news in regards to the debates, on a daily basis. Together with the Secretariat, the Rapporteurs will edit and draft the final message of the conference to the United Nations. This message will mirror the work performed at the conference.
The conference rapporteur will make sure the debates in the councils are recorded accurately and reported to the Secretary General in written form for the respective council, in each day of the conference.
The news rapporteur will monitor the debates and write an opinion piece in the news section of the rotaractmun website for the respective council, in each day of the conference.
Excellent writing and observation skills are required and critical analysis is a must. Your approach can influence the output of the councils in a positive way!
